Where these numbers come from
USCIS. Filing fees are set by regulation in 8 CFR part 106: the fee amounts in 8 CFR 106.2 and premium processing in 8 CFR 106.4, both read on ecfr.gov. USCIS publishes the same amounts in its fee schedule, Form G-1055, which is the page to check on the day you file.
Department of State. Visa fees come from the travel.state.gov fees page linked above.
Delaware. Corporate fees come from the Division of Corporations fee schedule and franchise tax page linked above.
Recent change: Oct. 16, 2026
An inflation adjustment under H.R. 1, effective Oct. 16, 2026, raised the Form I-131 fee for immigration parole requests and the fees for initial work permits based on asylum, parole and TPS. Those are not the advance parole or adjustment-based work permit fees shown in the family table above, which family-based applicants use. The notice is FR Doc. 2026-20187 on federalregister.gov. If your case involves parole, asylum or TPS, check the current amount on G-1055.
Confirm before you file
Government fees change, sometimes with little notice, and a filing sent with the wrong fee is rejected and returned. Every fee on this site shows the date it was checked. Before any filing, we confirm the amount, the form edition and the payment method against the live USCIS, State Department or Delaware page. Processing times are not listed here; see the USCIS processing times tool and the NVC timeframes page.
Frequently asked questions
Are these the firm's fees?
No. Every amount on this page is a government fee paid to USCIS, the Department of State or the State of Delaware, usually directly by you or your employer. The firm does not collect or mark up these fees. Our legal fees are set out in writing in your engagement letter after we review your case.
Why does the online fee differ from the paper fee?
USCIS regulations give a discount for certain forms filed online, under 8 CFR 106.1(g). The discount does not apply to every form or to reduced-fee filings. Whether online filing is the right choice also depends on what evidence you need to submit and how.
What happens if I pay the wrong fee?
USCIS generally rejects the filing and returns the package, and the date you mailed or submitted it does not count. That can matter if you are near a deadline, an age-out date or the end of a status. Confirm the fee on G-1055 the day you file.
How often do these fees change?
USCIS last overhauled its fee schedule in 2024 and has since made targeted adjustments, including the Oct. 16, 2026 change for parole and certain work permits. Delaware revised its schedule on Aug. 1, 2026. We review this page regularly and date every amount.
Can government fees be waived?
Some can. USCIS allows fee waivers or reduced fees for certain forms, such as the N-400 reduced fee for qualifying households and Form I-912 fee waiver requests for listed forms. Many employment-based and waiver forms cannot be waived. We check this during intake.
