Practice areas
Filing and litigation under one plan
Most immigration firms stop at the filing. If the agency sits on a case for years, or denies it on a ground the record does not support, clients are left to start over. DC Federal Litigation PLLC is a federal litigation firm in Washington, DC. Its immigration filings are prepared so that, if federal court becomes necessary, the record is already built for it.
- Filing first. Each filing service has a written flat fee and a dated fee table using the government's own fee schedule.
- Escalation when needed. Mandamus and Administrative Procedure Act lawsuits ask a federal court to compel a decision or set aside an unlawful one. See federal immigration litigation.
- Your records. FOIA requests to USCIS, the State Department and CBP show what the government holds on you. See the A-File explained.

Frequently asked questions
Do you handle cases outside Washington, DC?
Yes. Immigration is federal law, so filings with USCIS and the State Department can be handled for clients in any state and for relatives abroad. Federal-court cases against agencies are often filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, where the agencies are headquartered. We meet in person at our Washington, DC office or by secure video, and documents are exchanged electronically.
How are your fees set?
Each filing service has a flat legal fee, quoted in writing after intake once we understand the facts. Government filing fees are separate and are listed by form on each service page, with a link to the official fee schedule.
What can be done if USCIS or an embassy is taking too long?
After inquiries and escalation fail, a federal lawsuit asking the court to compel the agency to decide (mandamus) can be an option. It does not decide the outcome, only that the agency must act. DC Federal Litigation PLLC handles these cases; see the mandamus overview.
Which languages do you work in?
Consultations are available in English, Spanish, French and Arabic. Your written summary can be delivered in the language of the consultation. Government forms must still be completed in English, and foreign documents need certified English translations, which we help you organize. Spanish, French and Arabic versions of key pages are on our language sites.
Who prepares the immigration filings?
Immigration filings are prepared and signed by a licensed U.S. immigration attorney who works with the firm. Federal-court litigation, FOIA and mandamus matters are handled by DC Federal Litigation PLLC. Your engagement letter explains in writing who does what, how responsibility is divided and how fees work, before any work begins.
